About This Store
rOOTS KC was a specialized plant boutique located within Zona Rosa, a popular outdoor lifestyle shopping center in Kansas City's Northland area known for its mix of retail stores, dining options, and entertainment venues. The store provided a unique, intimate shopping experience focused on houseplants suitable for all skill levels, along with ceramic pots, plant accessories, gifts, and merchandise. It stood out from surrounding larger anchor retailers and chain stores by emphasizing hands-on education, including plant care advice, pest management tips, and on-site potting services to help customers build and maintain their green spaces. Targeting plant enthusiasts and those seeking nature-inspired, thoughtful gifts, rOOTS KC offered a calming atmosphere and personalized service that complemented the vibrant, community-oriented vibe of Zona Rosa. As a local woman-owned business, it added a distinctive horticultural element to the mall's diverse tenant mix until its closure in March 2026.
